Comedian. Writer. Executive Producer.

Rory Albanese is a national headlining stand-up comedian and a 9-time Emmy winning writer and Executive Producer.  After graduating college Rory set out to fulfill his life-long dream to be a stand-up but he also heard the echoes of his Italian Father’s work ethic telling him to get a day job.  So in the summer of 1999, he talked his way in to a job as a production assistant at The Daily Show, 6 months after Jon Stewart took over as host.

As he worked his way through most every job at The Daily Show, Rory would take any free time away from the show to perform stand-up.  He opened for Lewis Black on Lewis’ 2007 Red, White and Screwed theater tour; he starred in his own Comedy Central Presents (2010) half hour special and was featured on John Oliver’s New York Comedy Show (2011) on Comedy Central.  From 2010 through 2013 he teamed up with fellow Daily Show comedians John Oliver, John Hodgman, Rob Riggle and Al Madrigal, and did stand-up gigs across the country on their days off.  In 2012, Rory traveled with John Oliver and other Daily Show comedians to Afghanistan for a USO tour to entertain American troops.

From 2010-2013 Rory joined Jon as the only two Executive Producers of The Daily Show and in 2015, Rory became Executive Producer, writer and on-air correspondent for Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore

Now with a full-time focus on stand-up, Rory is planning to tape his first hour-long special and he is touring the country non-stop.  For more Rory follow him on Twitter and Instagram.
